From artist to childbirth educator. How does that happen? HypnoBirthing® happens!
I originally went to college for fine art, and have worked as an educator for the last 7 years teaching elementary, high school, and college art. While I still love art and teaching art, I quickly noticed I didn’t have the passion required to fully dive in to that field of work. I took a chance by choosing not to pursue a Master’s degree which was needed to continue teaching art at the college level. This allowed me to explore this other experience that is near and dear to my heart, HypnoBirthing®.
For the birth of our daughter, my husband and I took a childbirth class taught by our amazing doula. Throughout that class, I stumbled upon hypnobirthing techniques. I had no idea what any of it was, but it talked about guided relaxation and a calm, easy birth, which really sparked my interest. I mean, I didn’t have to scream and feel scary pain during labor? Sign me up! At that time, there were not any certified HypnoBirthing® educators in our area, so I opted for a self-study program. And with that, we experienced a calm, serene, easy, and unmedicated labor. I knew right then I wanted HypnoBirthing® to remain a part of my life.
The HypnoBirthing® Mongan Method Certification class was one of the most transformative experiences of my life. I spent 5 days learning and sharing alongside an inspiring group of women. I finally experienced that feeling of knowing I am on the right path. The Mongan Method of HypnoBirthing® offers so much more than I experienced myself with the self-study program I chose. I am honored to share this amazing program with expecting families. I look forward to spreading the HypnoBirthing® love!
